Keeping Our Celebratory Composure
Naturally, political and social events will cause the body to contract instinctually. However, suppose we succumb to psychological fear when faced with the phenomenon of Donald Trump, Putin or a myriad of other political situations. In that case, we will find this fear stems from mental projections and thoughts about these situations that consume our attention at that moment, as a dramatic movie might. These thoughts will imply that the experiences are separate from us, and we will be personifying ourselves and othering our environment. By stepping back from these thoughts and reconnecting with our true essence—the inherent beingness free from such mental activity—we reclaim psychological freedom from fear. From this space, celebratory action arises naturally.
Our thoughts and imaginings then shift towards celebratory action that inspires positive emotion and momentum rather than negativity and contraction. Such action nurtures skilful, balanced nourishment of needs, protects the body from environmental toxicity (including harmful social relationships), and may involve reassessing connections, defending against abuse, and taking a stand in society to uphold the dignity of all life in alignment with life-affirming impersonal beingness. It also releases the body-mind from psychological wounds and defensive habits built up from previous separateness. It also expresses itself through innocent, playful, creative, curious, and exploratory ways that embody wisdom, love, courage, beauty, and other life-affirming qualities.
Our true nature remains ever-free. From this perspective, we might view individual human body-minds as transient experiences we are having – like watching a little movie—experiments arising from impersonal beingness to establish and express itself more fully through the human experiment. Through encountering these experiences, we cultivate mental conviction and trust. The fundamental question of human life emerges: How expansively can we live genuinely experiencing the love and freedom of impersonal beingness? Or will we succumb to the contracted view of the ego based on the personalisation of our beingness? We can say that one of the most significant experiments we face in establishing our true nature is the experience of human body-minds in intimate and collective forms. Abiding as the freedom of impersonal beingness celebratory actions naturally arise in all circumstances to navigate this to the best of our ability and the best is good enough!
