Trapped in the Mind
The experience of the presence of essential conscious nature can be a powerful force in keeping the mind balanced and focused on positive thoughts and actions. However, for some individuals, the impact of trauma can be so severe that it overwhelms this natural state of being, leading to intense psychological distress that requires specialised help before one can fully experience the peace of their true self. We could say this is a form of entrapment in the mind that is difficult to escape without additional tools.
As a psychotherapist and a member of the Human Givens Institute, I firmly believe that the teachings of non-duality and psychotherapy are complementary approaches. When someone is experiencing chronic symptoms, it is always wise to consider seeking the assistance of a trained mental health professional.
In my practice, I use evidence-based models of human psychobiology, drawing upon the latest neuroscience findings. One potent tool I've used with great success is the Rewind Technique, developed by the Human Givens Institute. This neuroscientific and evidence-based tool quickly resolves a range of chronic psychological symptoms, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I have personally witnessed the effectiveness of the Rewind Technique in treating individuals who have experienced severe trauma, such as war, abuse, and other unspeakable events. These experiences can leave a profound mark on the nervous system, resulting in heightened sensitivity and symptoms like extreme anxiety, dissociation, and even psychosis.
The beauty of the Rewind Technique lies in its non-invasive nature. The client does not need to discuss the traumatic event with the therapist, eliminating the risk of re-embedding the trauma. The process involves inducing a hypnotic trance and then reprogramming the event. I have been astounded by the rapid and lasting relief this technique provides. Often, after just one session, clients report a significant reduction in symptoms, and the traumatic event loses its power to control their thoughts and emotions.
This technique has proven helpful in treating a wide range of chronic psychological conditions, including depression, addiction, anger, OCD, and compulsive behaviours. The transformative power of psychotherapeutic tools like the Rewind Technique in helping individuals break free from the confines of a troubled mind cannot be overstated.
While the experience of essential conscious nature is undoubtedly a source of great strength, it is necessary to recognise that sometimes, the mind and body need additional support to heal from deep-seated wounds. By embracing the complementary nature of non-dual teachings and psychotherapy, we can help those who are trapped in the mind find their way back to the innate peace and wholeness that is their birthright.
With love and compassion,
Freyja
